The average length of a railroad train is 15m to 18m, and these look like they're about 15m long. Each train looks like the same length and their are three of them so I just multiplied 15m by three to get 45m. So 45m long is my estimation on the train. I tried searching the internet to see if I was right or at least close, but every info I found on the train was in French

i researched that the average railroad train is about 15-18m long. One of the trains looks like it's 15m long so I multiplied it by 3 thinking each train is equal. After i multiplied 15 to 3 I got 45m. so i think the train is 45m long.

I figured that the trains 3 sections would probably be equal. So I went to the first one so I Googled, What is the average length for a train carriage (I think thats that they`re called)? It said that it would be about 60 feet long. Since all the carriage would probably be the same, and there were 3. So then I multiplied 60x3 which is 180. So I think the train is approximately 180 feet long.

The average size length of a railroad train track is around 15m to 18m. So I measured the the railroad track and it is about 15m long. Now I looked at the size of the 3 trains and they all looked around the same size. So I took 15m and multiplied it by 3 and got 45m. So my estimation is that the railroad track is around 45m long.

Ok so, to get my answer I clicked the link where the picture came from which led me to flickr. The photo there was bigger, therefore easier to measure, so I measured it from there. I measured it with a ruler and ended up getting 5mm. There was 3 carts on the train so I just multiplied 5x3=15. So 15mm is the size of the train in the picture. And unlike Rowelio over there I used Google Translate and the actual size of the train was 25 km.. By the way Rowel, the train is from Italy so the info you got was probably in Italian, not French.

I measured the railroad with a ruler, and got 15cm (15m). The 3 trains were approximately the same size. So then I multiplied 15 by 3 and got 45. So the train is about 45m long.

I mean 25 m not km.

The typical boxcar is between 15m and 18m long

If there are 3 box cars I would multiply 15*3
15= metres
3 = box cars
15*3=45
45 metres long are 3 boxcars

rather than finding the exact length of a railroad train i just rounded the numbers and get 20 and 15. so when you multiply 20 by 3 i get 60. After that, i used the number 15 and multiplied 15 by 3 so i got 45. Once i get the number from both numbers (45 and 60) i treated these 2 numbers like a range. what i mean by that is that i am estimating and saying the the length of railroad train is in between the range of 45-60 meters. i used this method because its easier to estimate the number and round the numbers rather than looking up the exact length of the railroad train.

I searched on google that the average length of a railroad cart is 15m-18m long, so I just took the number in between those numbers (17) and multiply it by 3 since there are 3 carts. 17x3= 51. so the train might be around 51m long.

Unknown said...

So first I checked what was the length of each rail car. And it was 15m. And since there is 3 cars I just multiplied 15m x 3m and it is 45 m. So the length of the train is 45 m.

I searched up on Google what is the length of an average railroad train is and it's 15m. I then multiplied 15 by 3 to get the answer. The answer is 45m. So my estimation of the train's length is 45m.

I measured the first train and it was about 8 m. Next I looked at the two trains behind it and they looked like the same length. After I found that out, I multiplied 8 by 3 (because there are 3 trains) and I got 24 m. So, my estimate is that the train is 24 m.

nalyssa said...

Apparently, the average train section is about 23 m. So, I took 23 and multiplied it by the number of sections, 3. 23 x 3 equals 69. And I got the answer of 69 meters.

I decided to go with a different approach to this question. I used my cm ruler to mesure the train. When I mesured it the far train car was 4cm, the second train car mesured 4.1cm, and the fisrt/closest train car was 11.5 cm. Then I added it all up and got 19.6. so all the train cars together equal 19.6cm.

considering that there's 3 carriages on the train, I thought It'd be very likely that they are the same length. So I googled how much one would be. It said that the average railroad train is 15-20m long. So, 20x3= 60.
My guess is that the train is around 60m long.

ccarlo said...

I Have Looked at Similar Trains like this and they all say that there at lease 20 feet long per cart so
20 x 3 = 60 So i'm guessing that that's how long that train is.

creiner said...

Each trains have the same length. An average train carriage is approx. 15m. There are 3 train carriage, multiply 3 by 15, you'll 45. The length of the train is 45m.

rkerrnel said...

There are 3 separated box cars. Approx each one of them is 12-15m long, so, 15mx3m is 45m. 45m is my estimate.

I measured the first train car in inches and I got 5 inches. I used inches because I am going to convert into feet. 5x12=60. I multiplied by 12 because there are 12 inches in one feet. One train car is 60 ft. long 60x3=180 I multiplied by 3 because there are 3 train cars. I am now going to convert it into meters. I'm going to start with one train car which is 60 ft. I am going to multiply 60 by 30 because there are 30 cm in one feet. 60x30=1800(60ft=1800cm). Next I am going to divide by 1800 by 100 because there are 100 cm in one meter(1800 Divided 100 = 18). So one train car is also 18m long(18x3= 54) I am estimating that all three train cars is either 180 ft. or 54 m. long.

I looked up the average length of a railroad train in google, it was about 15-18 meters long. I multiplied the meters to how many trains there were(3), and I got 45(estimation).

Meters - 15

Trains - 3
15x3= 45

the average size of a boxcar is 15-18 meters, I'm taking the number in between which is 16.5 and multiplying it by 3 since there are 3 boxcars. 16.5x3= 49.5 the approximate length of this train is 49.5m long

kkatie said...

I searched on Google how long is an average train piece? (room?) and it said about 15m each so I think that all parts are equal so I did 15x3=45 so that means the train would be 45m.

tmac said...

I'd say the total length of the train is around 186'-188'

the lenght of the train track is 15m long
i multiplyesd 15 by 3 train carts and i got 45 but i minus the number by the front (8.5) and the side (13.5) (4.5x3)and it gave me 23 witch i think is the answer to this question

rpatricia said...

The approximate length of a railroad train is about 15-18 meters long (searched it up), then it looks like the two in the back is the same size as the big one in the front. So I multiplied the length of the train to how many there are (15x3). So my estimate is about 45 meters long

I searched on Google what is the average length of a train or train carriage, and got about 50 feet long.
So after I knew about the length I multiplied 50 and how much trains are in the picture so 3(50x3). So the answer is 150. So my estimation is 150ft long.

I saw the house behind the first train carriage and used it as reference because they looked like the same size. I searched up the average width of a house and came up with an answer of 45 feet. All the train carriages look equal so I multiplied 45 by 3 and came up with an answer of 135 feet. The train's size is 135 feet.

bpatricia said...

I thought I was going to be measuring but when I saw the train, I knew that it would be hard to measure because the picture was taken in a different angle. Since the only thing I knew about the train was that it had 3 carriages, I researched the average length of a typical boxcar which was 15m-18m long. I then used the average value of 16.5.
16.5x3 gave me an answer of 49.5m or 50m (how long I think the train is).

I looked on the internet that the train car was about 50 feet long. There was 3 train cars so 50x3= 150. So the total length was 150 feet

roughly a train car is usually about 15m long. there are three train cars so 15x3 = 45. I think the train is around 45m long, give or take.

sangela said...

There are 3 parts to that train. I'm guessing they're roughly the same size. Each car in a train is pretty long. I'd say that each one is about 40 feet. There are 3 sections, so I multiplied each by 40 (feet). I got 120 feet for my answer. The train is 120 feet long.

rperry said...

I researched that the average train is 15 - 18m long so I would just got with 15. So 15*3=45 so my estimation is 45

mcheyanne71111 said...

I Googled a few questions and they all gave me different answers. I think that a train car is roughly 60-65 feet long and 9 feet wide. I Googled how long this particular train was and it said it was 25km long. So i just worked from there. There is 3 train cars. So 25 divided by 3 gives you about 8km per car. So 8 multiplied by 3 = 24. Around the size of the train. There you have it.
And fun fact:there are 328084 feet in a kilometer. So 25km is equivalent to 8202100 feet.

An average cargo thingy that those trains carry around them is about 15-20 m long. Since there looks like to be that there is 3 cargo thingies then I came up with an equation of 17 x 3 which came with a result of 51. So since this is the result I think the amount of this train's length is 51 m long if I am not mistaken.

It seems that each train are the same length. So i measured one train which was approx. 15m. So i multiplied 15x3=45. So about 45m long.
