Your first Fraction assignment for me this term is to make a Fraction Alphabet book. It will start with the 16 words we defined in class.  Here is how it is supposed to be done.

Go to Google Drive. It is found at https://drive.google.com .   Use your Google Password to sign up for access.  Once you are in you chose CREATE.

A drop down menu will appear and you now will have many choices.  You want Presentation. This is just like a power point.

Title your Presentation ******'s Fraction Alphabet Book.
New Slide First Word will be defined and a symbolic image will also be on the slide.
Repeat for all of your words.

This is due on Monday.

Weekend Proportion Post update

I erred in class when I told you this was due today.  It is due Sunday at midnight.  On Monday morning I would like to have all of them done and ready to mark.  Here is a link to the assignment if you still are having difficulties.

Please read the instructions carefully.  You will receive marks for each part of the assignment.  It is recommended that you complete as many parts as you can to get the best mark.  I am going to assign a BONUS question.

I want you to use one of these pictures and insert it at your post.

Once the picture is in at the post you are going to write your own proportion question and answer it.

Think of all the picture questions you have been answering in comment form over the last few weeks.

Here are the photos.

We will be marking these together so you will have to have something published.  If your computer goes boom or there are issues you can receive partial marks for having the assignment done on paper.  Remember to back up your posts often.  Save frequently so that you do not have a catastrophic OOPS my post is missing.

See y'all on Monday.  Work hard this weekend.

Greetings from Kelowna

Yesterday I ran the BMO Kelowna Marathon. It was a beautiful day and my time was 3:17.41(3 hours 17 minutes and 41 seconds).

If a Marathon is 42 kilometres, what was my average pace per kilometre?

A marathon is also 26.2 miles. What was my average pace per mile?

A cross country loop is approximately 1.2 kilometres. How many loops make up a marathon?

What pace would I hold for each of those x-country loops?

See you all on Wednesday. Ratio, rate and Proportion Test on Friday or Monday depending on interruptions.

Welcome to your blogs.  Your first post will be a wrap up of your proportion unit.  You need to have a review of all the work you have done.  None of this will be new.  Consider it the first chapter in your exam review!!
