Math Scavenger Hunt Stations

Welcome to a chapter review done in a different way.  In class today we are doing a scavenger hunt.  You will need to complete the question in class and go into the lab to add your answers if you have time.  Follow the following steps:
  • Complete the 4 questions in class
  • Complete the questions on a large white piece of paper.  Put your name on the paper.
  • In the lab find the computer that has the station number on it.
  • Type your explanation into the blog post provided
  • Be sure to add your Name and Room Number under your explanation
If you do not have time to do this in class please leave comments over the next 4 days. You can leave quite detailed answered there.

What is a perfect square? How do you use a square root? When you answer these questions please include the definitions of perfect squares and square roots.

How do you know that the following are Right Triangles?  Explain your thinking in words and pictures.  Show your work on a white piece of paper and colour it to explain your thinking

What do you know about Right Triangles??? Answer the following and see what you understand about right triangles.  For question 14 add in the comments one triangle you have created that is a right triangle and one that is not a right triangle.

Find all the whole numbers who have a square root between 6 and 7.  What do they all have in common?

Estimate the square roots using fractions for all of the whole numbers from the previous question.
