  3. I measured the height of the man and the height of the thumb on the computer screen. Thumb: 70 mm. Man: 12 mm in the picture. 70/12 gave me the ratio of the height of the thumb versus the height of the man which is 5.83. The average height of a french man is 6'2" (I searched the internet). I multiplied 5.83 by 6'2" (6.17 ft.) and I got an approximate height of 35.97 ft. or 36 ft. After I've done this, I wanted to know how close my approximation is to the actual height of the statue. I searched the internet and found out that it's actual height is about 12 meters high or roughly about 39.36 feet high. My approximation is about 3 ft. off the actual value.

  5. Approx. 50 feet because of trees near the statue. If it was 80 or more, it would've been taller than the trees in the background.

The man is about 6 feet tall. About 5.5 of him fit 6 multiplied by 5.5= 33. The statue is around 33 feet high.

  7. I think the man is about 6.2 feet tall because I searched, What is the average french man's height. I used my thumb as the person, and I started counting how many people it would take to reach the top of the big thumb. I got about 5 and a half (5.5). Then I multiplied 5.5x6.2, which is 34.72, and when rounded it's 35. I think the statue is approximately 35 feet tall. When I searched on google, How tall is the big thumb statue in Paris? It said about 39.37 feet tall. So I was off about 4 feet.

  8. The guy standing next at the thumb is probably about 6 ft tall and it takes about 5 of him to be the same size as the thumb and 6 x 5= 30 so the thumb is probably 30 ft tall.
